Artist's statement
I am a singer-songwriter, a term that came into vogue half a century or more ago to describe people like Phil Ochs. Bob Dylan and Buffy Sainte Marie. My heros then and now, though they've been joined by others. I write songs that sometimes come from the streets, but more often, an interior room. I use images and words to try to evoke a place, a viewpoint. I am no stranger to technology, but neither is it a bosom companion.

Like Auguste Rodin's Gates of Hell, Saturn Song is a creation made of other creations from other times, composed to make another whole. As a songwriter, I am always trying to reach people, to touch them, make them feel something. Also, a number of the songs feature collaborations with other artists. On all of these, the collaborators just shine! Check out the notes on each song to learn their names. These songs, written over the last three decades, were chosen for their impact.
